How are appointments scheduled?

We try our best to accommodate our patients scheduling requests as much as possible. We have found that children needing extensive dental work and preschool children should be seen early in the morning when they are fresher and can have a more positive experience. Some appointments may require the child to miss some school; however, these are considered excused absences. When your child receives regular dental care, appointments during school can be kept to a minimum.

We exclusively reserve your child’s appointment time, so we request 24-hours notice if your child is not able to keep that appointment. Advanced notice allows us to schedule another patient in need of care. We are aware that unforeseen events sometimes require missing an appointment, but we ask for your help as a courtesy to all of our patients. Please call 703-754-1580 to schedule an appointment.

Can I stay with my child during their visit?

You are welcome to stay with your child during their initial exam. However, at future appointments, we encourage you to allow a member of our staff to accompany your child. Typically we can establish a closer bond with your child when you are not present. We recommend this approach so that we can gain your child’s confidence, and help them overcome anxiety. However, if you choose, you are welcome to join your child in the treatment room. We ask that any child not being treated remain in the waiting area with an adult.
